In 2018, NOMADNESS Travel Tribe hosted their first annual festival for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) travelers. NOMADNESS Fest is an immersive experience that celebrates and creates safe spaces for leisure travelers, travel influencers, tour operators, and tourism professionals of color.

 

From the success of the online group, Evita Robinson has garnered partnerships with top brands and destinations around the world. This includes Issa Rae, who she Co- Executive Produced The NOMADNESS Project web series with on YouTube in 2013.

 

Evita’s accolades include National Geographic’s ‘21 Most Visionary Women Throughout Travel History’, AFAR Travel Vanguard Award recipient, The Root 100, and being noted as one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs of 2018. Evita was also invited to the White House under the Obama Administration for their meeting of world’s creative change makers, for SXSL (South By South Lawn). In 2017, she was inducted into the third cohort of the TED Residency, and gave her noted TED Talk that June.

 

She now serves as a media host amplifying BIPOC communities around the world, a screenwriter and producer, keynote speaker, and diversity consultant for destinations and brands.

SEJAL

PATEL

The child of immigrants, and an immigrant herself, Sejal (pronounced ‘say-juhl’) Patel is a first generation Canadian-Indian-American who you will usually find with her nose in a book, her hands full of something delicious, on a plane, or a combination of all of the above.

Sejal joined Nomadness Travel Tribe after quitting her corporate job on a whim to take what she calls her first round of retirement. After almost 2 years of mostly solo travel, she following a childhood dream and is now a flight attendant by day, hustler by night and connector all around. Sejal has built an incredible diverse and robust track record for story-telling, organization and relationships, which led her to becoming a Tribe Ambassador and now Operations Admin for Tribe. While her family still resides in the home she grew up in, Sejal has zig-zagged around the US, and eventually the world, before landing in Austin, Texas where she currently lives and is counting down the days until she can safely travel the world again.

Born and raised in the midwest Tushunda has always had a deep passion for travel.  Even before stepping foot on a plane she imagined herself traveling around the world. Experiencing the places, meeting the people and doing the things was the ultimate goal.

In 2014 A good friend had noticed Tushunda’s increased passion for travel and told her about Nomadness Travel Tribe.  Becoming a member of Tribe opened her eyes to a whole new community full of people who loved to travel just as much as she did.  It’s where she was introduced to another member who would make her life long dream of traveling around the world a reality.  The rest is Tribe history.

I would have to say Thailand.  It helped me to appreciate my quite time and stand in my truth, be more confident.
